BRAMNICK STATEMENT ON CHRISTIE BUDGET REMEDIES

Assembly Republican Conference Leader Jon Bramnick, R-Union, Essex, Morris and Somerset, issued the following statement regarding Gov. Christie’s plan for closing the state’s $2.2 billion shortfall in the current budget:

“The governor prescribed tough, but necessary medicine to fix our current budget crisis. Everyone agrees the solutions are painful, but it is time to recognize the old ways of operating the state have failed. Our dire financial condition requires making difficult decisions and today’s actions by the governor show he is ready to move New Jersey forward.

“We are at the point where we must go beyond talking about our financial difficulties and take action. I look forward to working on a bipartisan basis to enacting meaningful fiscal reforms that will put our state on solid footing so the painful actions which were detailed today can be avoided in the future.”
